Healthy Babies and Healthy Mothers: Reaching Toward a Better You” project’s mission is to educate pregnant and parenting youth, on topics of overall personal and family health and wellness. Past topics have been on Skin Health, Elevating Your Mood and Infant Care Needs. Project’s participants will attend monthly sessions that include a guest speaker, a shared common meal and gifts related to the months topic. Each session will open and close with discussions and self-reflections centering on the young parents embracing the goodness of who they are and inspiring them to continuously evolve toward a better self. 

Follow Your Dreams is a program designed to encourage, inspire and support teen and young mothers, in the CalLearn and YES programs, as they explore their dreams and possibilities for their future, as well as set goals for their journey. This is an opportunity for these young ladies to socialize, build relationships and encourage each other in a fun, safe environment that cultivates creativity and motivation. Mentors work alongside these ladies to support, guide and encourage them as they see their dreams come into fruition. No dream is too big to follow!

Empower hour is a weekly one hour meeting for Cal-Learn participants. Cal-Learn is a program for pregnant & parenting teens in the CalWORKs program. Empower Hours are designed to help the young mothers with skills necessary to graduate from high school, become self-sufficient, and form healthy families.

During Empower Hour sessions our teen mothers have been taught subjects in the following four categories; Life-Skills, Self-Esteem, Emotional Well-Being, & Safety.

• Life Skill topics have included; How to write a resume/Cover Letter. How to find housing. The importance of time management. 
• Self-Esteem topics have included; How to be body positive. The positive power of saying no and self-empowerment. Creating the positive around you.
• Emotional Well-Being topics have included; Understanding and identifying anxiety. Embracing vulnerability.
• Safety topics have included; Driver’s safety. Identifying and dealing with bullying. Trafficking awareness. 

Stay focused Ministries

 The mission for Stay Focused is to help families across America rebuild their broken dreams and repair their broken hearts. Stay Focused is a nationwide effort to inspire, encourage, and challenge our young people to reach for greatness. Stay Focused teaches our youth to never quit, never give up, or let anything stand in their way of becoming everything they were created to be.

Garden Pathways - Youth Mentoring 

Garden Pathways provides on-campus support for students at risk of suspension or expulsion, truancy, academic decline, and antisocial behaviors through one-on-one mentoring or group mentoring.

Youth Mentoring Specialists facilitate Transformative Education (CBT) group mentoring sessions once a week at several high schools and middle schools. Each weekly trauma-informed session lasts for the entirety of a school period.

Group mentoring provides emotional support, healing, restoration, and resilience building by addressing at root causes through trauma-informed approaches, activities and assessments.
